Day 1 : Arrival in Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet and greet by our driver guide and transfer to the hotel for check in and relax after long hours’ flight. Briefing on your 7-day Rwanda tailormade ecotour to get unique insights on the country history, culture, environmental sustainability programs run by locals. Overnight Chez Lando Hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Kigali City tour
After breakfast, explore Kigali- the capital city of Rwanda visiting: • Kigali Genocide Memorial, • Kandt natural history museum, • Rwanda Art Museum (Presidential Palace Museum), • The campaign against Genocide museum’ • Nyamirambo Women Center, • Kimironko market • Inema and Ivuka Arts Overnight at Chez Lando Hotel
Day 3: Cultural trip
After breakfast, we drive northwards to Musanze, the most popular tourist destination in the country and home to the Mountain Gorillas. On arrival, check in at the hotel and visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village to understand the traditional way of living, dances, kings’ stories, visiting schools, preparing local meals guided by local people and many more. Overnight at La Palme Hotel
Day 4: Ecotour experience
After breakfast, visit the Buhanga Eco-Park, a sacred forest where Rwandese Kings performed initiation ceremonies and rituals for a historical and nature trail. This hidden gem has enormous ecological importance and stunning beauty. In the afternoon, transfer to Kibuye and on the route, magnificent tea plantations and landscapes will make you carry your camera ready for pictures. Overnight at Cormoran Lodge.
Day 5: Ecotour & boat cruise
After breakfast, visit the Museum of Environment then after, take a boat cruise tour visiting: • Napoleon’s hat Island • The Peace Island • The Star Island • Kinunu Coffee washing station Transfer to Huye for overnight at Boni Consili Hotel
Day 6: Historical tour
After breakfast at 8:00 A.M, visit the Ethnographic National Museum rich in ethnographic and archaeological collections from East Africa; proceed to the University of Rwanda then the Save Cathedral, first cathedral in Rwandan Cathedral built in 1900. Later, transfer to Nyanza King’s Palace which was the residence of King Mutara III Rudahirwa and the Royal Palace that was traditionally built. This Palace offers a detailed look into Rwandan traditional seat of their monarchy and is an impressive museum, restored to its 19th-century state and it is made entirely with traditional materials. Transfer to Kigali and overnight at Chez Lando Hotel.
Day 7: End of tour
After breakfast, visit the CAPLAKI handcrafts village to buy last minutes souvenirs for family and friends back home then transfer to the airport. End of service.
