After early breakfast at 6.00 am, drive to Akagera National Park for a full day game drive. The park is home to Lions, Rhinos, elephants, buffalos, hippos, more than 500 species of birds have been listed for the park, making it a prime location for birdwatchers. With an experienced and knowledgeable guide, you will be able to spot and easily site the animals in their natural habitat. Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning boat safari to Lake Ihema to explore closer the hippos, crocodiles, and different water birds like the marabou stork, African fish Eagle, herons, cormorants, etc. but you might get a chance to meet other animals like Elephants. Afterward, visit the surrounding communities to experience either the culture of cattle, local beer production, arts and crafts, or local festivities. Drive back to the park and enjoy a night game drive before overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

After breakfast at 7:30 a.m, drive back to Kigali to visit:

• Art Museum, Nyamirambo Women Center,
• Kimironko market, Inema and Ivuka Arts
• Campaign against genocide museum, Night city tour

Overnight at Hotel Mille Collines or similar

After breakfast at 8:00 a.m, in the morning, you will be transferred to Nyungwe Forest NP with a stopover at Nyanza King’s Palace which was the residence of King Mutara III Rudahirwa and the Royal Palace that was traditionally built. This Palace offers a detailed look into the Rwandan traditional seat of their monarchy and is an impressive museum, restored to its 19th-century state. Afterward, visit the Ethnographic National Museum with the finest ethnographic and archeological collections portraying Rwandan social and cultural aspects in Huye. On your way to Top View Hill Hotel for overnight, you will be enjoying a scenic drive through the forest.

Wake up very early and after breakfast, enjoy a morning chimpanzee tracking then spend the rest of the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, do a canopy walk, hanging 60m above the forest floor enabling you to have a panoramic view of the forest’s fauna and flora including bird watching. Overnight at Top view Hill Hotel.

Today after early breakfast, you report to the trekking assembly point at 7:00 a.m for a pre-trekking briefing. You visit a different group of your assigned habituated gorillas. The trek can take between one and four hours, and although the hike may be physically demanding, the anticipation of the experience is invigorating and the beauty of the forest and its inhabitants fascinating. Each trek is strictly regulated to one hour and the visit passes all too quickly and you will depart, leaving the gorillas to their fragile existence. After the trek, visit the Musanze caves, a geological treat of 2 km and home to the wild migratory bats. Return to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at 9:00 a.m, depart for Gisenyi and check in at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Afterward, enjoy a boat trip in Lake Kivu visiting the Nyamyumba Hot springs, fishing village, Methane Gas and Amahoro Island then proceed with a walking city tour. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali to catch your flight. On your way to the airport, visit the CAPLAKI handcrafts to buy last minutes’ souvenirs for family and friends. Recommended flight time: afternoon( from 14:00). End of service
